Twin Sticks is a Top UK Gaming Blog

Top 10 Games 2019 - No.2 Sekiro Shadows Die Twice

Intro

It’s been an odd time at Twin Sticks UK Gaming Blog. I, like most people, have been under strict lockdown regulations in the wake of a global pandemic. I’ve been inside for roughly two months with my girlfriend, both of us working from home at our IKEA kitchen table. This small wooden table is the same place I write blog posts from, eat at, and occasionally have friends gathered round to play board games. (Ironically the last game we played was Pandemic – if only we knew…)

But in difficult times, there is a surprising amount of positivity. This is probably the most time my girlfriend and I will ever spend together and I’ve had more free time to work on the blog. I’ve hunkered down, played video games and written blog posts. It’s through a lot of this hard work recently that Feedspot accepted Twin Sticks as a top UK Gaming Blog. For a relatively small blog, this is a great achievement.

Twin Sticks UK Gaming Blog

This may be the first time you’re leaning about Twin Sticks Gaming Blog, so before we go any further let me briefly introduce myself.

My name is Jack and I started Twin Sticks to share my thoughts on old and new video games with you. Since launch over a year ago, the blog has seen steady growth with over 250 followers across all social media and regular clicks on Google. (Oddly, most for my Luigi’s Mansion 3 Review). As Twin Sticks focusses on unbiased video game reviews, I have reviewed 17 games for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.

Now back to Feedspot…

Feedspot Top UK Gaming Blogs

I recently submitted Twin Sticks to Feedspot to potentially get on the list of the top UK Gaming Blogs. And to my pleasant surprise I was accepted. But in order to be accepted, Feedspot asses your blog using the following criteria.

Here is the official statement from Feedspot:

“Feedspot has a team of over 25 experts whose goal is to discover and rank popular blogs […] in several niche categories.

There are several ways we discover new feeds.

  • Publishers submit their blogs […] on Feedspot
  • We have a research team who does extensive research on google and social media platforms to discover new influencers.
  • Feedspot has in-house media monitoring tools for discovering bloggers in several niche categories.

Our expert editorial team reviews each blog before adding them to the relevant category list.

Ranking is based on

  • Relevancy
  • Industry blogs (those not favoring a specific brand) have higher rank than blogs by individual brands(who often tend to promote their own products).
  • Blog post frequency(freshness)
  • Social media follower counts and engagements
  • Domain authority
  • Age of a blog
  • Alexa Web Traffic Rank and many other parameters.

We routinely remove inactive blogs and those which are no longer relevant to a given list. We update the list as we receive new blog submissions and re-ranked every few weeks. We also take direct feedback from users to make changes to the lists.”

Twin Sticks is on the list!

For a small blog like Twin Sticks, being accepted as one of the top UK Gaming Blogs is a great achievement. And I’m especially grateful to be included alongside other blogs/websites which I regularly read. Blogs like Rock Paper Shotgun and others that I follow on social media like Grown Gaming. Sure the blog is still in it’s relative infancy, but I am now even more determined to grow my audience. It’s my promise to bring you unbiased video game reviews you can trust.

Final Thoughts

I am extremely grateful to be listed as one of the top UK gaming blogs by Feedspot and I’m extremely excited to see where my gaming blog takes me and hopefully you’ll join me for the ride. (And unbiased video game reviews of course…)

Thank you Feedspot and here’s to the future of Twin Sticks!
